Prof. Tae-Hyun Oh received CVPR2020“Outstanding Reviewer Award”
Prof. Tae-Hyun Oh (Assistant professor in Electrical Engineering) has received an Outstanding Reviewer Award in IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2020.
Previously, Outstanding Reviewer Awards had been called as Best Reviewer Awards. Prof. Oh has been honorably acknowledged as one of the outstanding reviewers out of 3664 CVPR reviewers.
* IEEE/CVF CVPR is known to be the top AI conference. According to the Google scholar metrics, CVPR is the 5th rank among all academic fields; c.f., the 1st rank is Nature, and the 3rd one is Science. In the academic field of AI, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, ICML, ICLR and AAAI are considered as highly prestigious top-tier conferences. Those are known to be more competitive than Top SCI journals.

Junho Park Scores a Grand Slam Win at IEEE AP-S
For the first time in Korea, Junho Park, a doctoral student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (Academic advisor: Professor Wonbin Hong), has won first prize in the student paper competition at all three major conferences of IEEE’s Antennas & Propagation Society (AP-S), including the 2020 IEEE AP-S/URSI, 2020 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, and the USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting.
Park had received the best paper award at IEEE ISAP 2018, the other major conference of IEEE AP-S and its biggest conference in Asia and in April 2020, he was the first Korean to win the best student paper award at the IEEE European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2020). With these accomplishments, Park has scored a grand slam win at all major conferences of IEEE AP-S in Asia, Europe and North America with different paper topics.
Park and his advisor, Professor Wonbin Hong, presented a paper titled, ‘Optically Invisible Touch Sensor Panel Integrated Antenna: Concept and Demonstration at mmWave Spectrum’ at the 2020 IEEE AP-S/URSI conference.
In the paper, the authors propose a novel concept of a microwave selective sensor equipped with optical invisibility, touch sensor, and two-way wireless signal capabilities. They also materialized and demonstrated QHD+ image quality, touch sensor and 5G beamforming technology in the OLED of commercialized devices.
IEEE AP-S/URSI is the world’s largest international conference organized by the IEEE AP-S. At this year’s conference, awards were given to 44 papers among a total of 1,355 accepted submissions. Park placed first after a rigorous 4-stage selection process among the 10 final candidates.

Junho Park (Ph. D Student) won the IEEE EuCAP 2020“Best Student Paper Award”
Junho Park (Ph.D student in Electrical Engineering, POSTECH) and Prof. Wonbin Hong (Advisor) are selected to receive the IEEE European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2020) Best Student Paper Award for the paper entitled “Metal Stamped Antenna-in-Package for Millimeter-wave Large-scale Phased-array Applications Using Multiphysics Analysis”. Mr. Junho Park is honored as the first non-European student to win this award which is also the first achievement in the history of the Korean Electromagnetic Society.
The IEEE European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) is Europe’s largest and most significant conference for the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) and one of the three major IEEE AP-S conferences. The EuCAP Best Student Paper is awarded to only one doctorate student among a total of 1543 submitted papers in EuCAP 2020. In addition, the authors have already been awarded the 1st Prize Best Paper Award at another of the top three major IEEE AP-S conferences (IEEE ISAP 2018).
In this conference, the authors presented a new design methodology using multiphysics (electrical-thermal-mechanical) analysis for highly integrated millimeter- and Terahertz-wave phased-array applications. This multi-disciplinary approach is exemplified as a first-of-its-kind massive-scale phased-array antenna-in-package dually functioning as a highly efficient phased-array and a low-profile heat spreader.
