Prof. Rok-Hyun Baek’s research team (Dr. Joon-Sik Yoon, Jin-Soo Jeong, Ph.D. student Seung-Hwan Lee) transferred the invention patent to Samsung Electronics for 300 million won.

Choi Min-soo (PhD graduate), POSTECH graduate breaks through the 200Gb/s wall
Ph.D. graduate Choi Min-soo (advisor: Professor Byung-seop Kim) developed the world’s first wired transmitter that broke the 200Gb/s barrier.
Through this research, Dr. Choi Min-soo raised the existing maximum speed of ultra-high-speed wired transmitters by more than 56% so received favorable reviews at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) 2021, one of the world’s largest circuit design conferences.

Joonho Park (PhD course), “Excellence Award at the 1st POSTECH Excellence Contest”
Joonho Park (Advisor Professor Wonbin Hong), a doctoral student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH, won the Excellence Award at the 1st POSTECH Excellence Contest.
In this excellence contest, the evaluation was made based on thesis and academic achievements of the last two years.
During the period, Junho Park was awarded the Excellence Award for publishing a total of 35 papers, including 10 papers in IEEE SCI(E) journals, 3 patent registrations, 5 best student papers, and 1 scholarship. (4/6/2021) -
