JunMin Park has been awarded The Best Paper at ICA-SYMP 2019.
His paper titled “Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems via Sampled-data Control under Aperiodic Samplings“authored by MS/PhD MS/PhD integrated candidate JunMin Park (Advisor: Prof. PooGyeon Park ) has been selected as the Best Paper Award at ICA-SYMP 2019.
This paper considers the stabilization problem for nonlinear systems which represented as T-S fuzzy systems by using sampled-data control. For the systems, this paper constructs Lyapunov functionals based on a looped-functional and proposes the stability criterion in terms of linear matrix inequalities.
※ ICA-SYMP 2019 (IEEE Conference Record Number #45470) is the first annual international symposium organized by Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association, and co-organized by Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT) and Thailand Robotics Society (TRS). The conference aims to provide an international platform to present technological advances, launch new ideas and showcase research work in the field of instrumentation, robotics, automation, control, and artificial intelligence.

POSTECH-SKT to jointly Develop 28GHz Antenna Tuning Technology
Junho Park (Ph.D student in Electrical Engineering), Jaehyun Choi (Ph.D Student in Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Wonbin Hong (Lead advisor) has developed an antenna tuning technology to improve quality of service (QoS) in 5G cellular mobile communication system.
POSTECH-SK Telecom joint research team has developed the impedance calibration technology that can be universally used to 5G millimeter wave antenna for the first time in the world and completed the verification in real 5G channel environments at SK Telecom. The research results are expected to be applied to millimeter wave 5G mobile communication system which requires precise transmission and reception environment to improve call/data quality and battery power consumption -
JoongAng Ilbo Ranks POSTECH 1st in Innovation and Engineering
JoongAng Ilbo recently released their annual rankings of universities in Korea, and POSTECH was ranked first in innovation and engineering, and second in natural sciences.
‘Inoversity’—an amalgam of innovation and university—was introduced for the 2018 rankings to evaluate innovation capacities through research achievements. POSTECH ranked first in collaborative research with industry and overseas patent applications to major countries.
Also notable was that JoongAng Ilbo ranked POSTECH first for ‘Professor Research’ in Innoversity, engineering, and natural sciences.
JoongAng Ilbo releases their comprehensive and field-based university rankings every year. POSTECH, along with other STEM universities, are evaluated only in the field-based rankings.
